New House Farm Development - Phase One

Due to some of the poor weather we have been having lately and unexpected additional drainage works, the closure of Hospital Lane will remain in place for another week and won’t be taken down until the night of 10th March 2017. Bridgebank apologies for any inconvenience the extension of the road closure may cause.

The dates below have been received from Bridgebank (Contractor to Barratt Homes ) relating to the works on the S278 new traffic island being constructed on the A516.

Enabling works to install the contra flow– 10th January 2017
(A516 down to single carriageway each way)

A516 contraflow in place and on/off slip roads closed on the westbound carriageway and 40mph speed restriction - 16th January 2017
(includes some night closure to facilitate traffic management being put in place/ moved)

A516 contraflow switched to westbound carriageway and newly formed roundabout – 3rd March 2017
(access to and from hospital lane and A516 restored)

All works bar the final surfacing to the island complete – w/c 29th May 2017

Final surfacing complete – End of June 2017
(a series of night closures at the request of DCC)

These are dates that the contractors are working to and where possible, the aim is to reduce the time scales. In light of the time of year, all parties are raising the need to be mindful that weather and technical issues may arise which could potentially cause a delay. As time goes on, the Parish Council is expecting to receive detailed updates and to be advised of any variances to the above timeframe; which will be posted onto the website.
